Selection Guide For Liquid Level Sensors

There are many types of liquid level sensors on the market, such as photoelectric, capacitive, float and so on. With the development of science and technology, the requirements for products will become higher and higher, and the corresponding requirements for liquid level sensors will also be higher. Liquid level sensors in our lives is still very extensive, such as coffee makers, humidifiers, steam irons and so on.

There are two types of photoelectric liquid level sensors: separated and integrated. The integrated type needs to be in contact with the liquid to be detected, while the separated type requires a light cone to be designed on the container. There is no difference between the principles and they are based on optical reflection. The principle is to detect the level of the liquid based on the reflected light received by the internal receiving tube.

The capacitive type is non-contact detection. It does not need to be in contact with liquid. There should be no motors or metal objects within 2cm of the sensor, and the wall should not be too thick, otherwise it will affect the detection.

Different liquid level sensors use different scenarios. If you want to choose the one that is more suitable for you, you can evaluate and screen based on the following aspects.
1. Detection of liquid: the characteristics of the medium in the liquid, the proportion of impurities in the medium, the viscosity of the liquid to be tested, whether it contains particles, whether it is easy to scale, whether there is a chemical reaction in the light, etc.

2. Application environment: such as temperature, pressure, liquid level range, so as to determine the selection range of the sensor
3. Installation method requirements: how to install to realize the detection function, the opening position, standard, caliber, material, etc. of the sensor on the device
4. Manufacturer selection issues: sensor price, after-sales service, etc.
